I am certainly not a super-mom, and I have to give credit to those of you that are! I know many mommas that INSPIRE me on a daily basis...my co-worker, Connie, who is juggling a husband, two kids in high school, a full-time job, all while driving her kids to nearly every activity under the sun and using her lunch breaks to grocery shop...whew! And my friend Tia, who is a stay at home mommy (no easy task) to her two adorable kiddos. Waking early in the morning and continuing through the day on her own with the babes until her hubby is home, sometimes late into the evening. Challenging to say the least. Anyway...point is, I by no means have it rough. And the last 3 days I've been flying solo because Trav's job took him out of town. I can barely keep up! Let alone breathe!
My day looks a little something like this...
6am--Rise and Shine, Marley's ready to eat, and I need to get ready!
7am--Play with the babe, feed the dog, and get my bags ready for work! Make coffee!
8am--Out the door...running a little late (most days)! Now it's time to work, work, work!
11am--Pump :(
3pm--Pump again!
5pm--Drive home, stuck in traffic, feed Marley, feed Sasha, think about dinner???????
6pm--My sacred hour of the day to be "with" Marley...play, go for a walk, etc.
7pm--Bathtime, feeding, read books, and sleepy-time!
8pm--Finally, I get a chance to eat dinner, tidy the house, fold some laundry, etc.
10pm--I'm ready for bed...but wait, what's that I hear on the monitor? Hungry babe!
2am--Miss Marley is up again!
6am--REPEAT!!
Sigh! So much to do and so little time. I've found myself getting into a routine of picking up things for the house or doing much needed things for myself, like tanning, over my 1/2 hour lunch break. It leaves very little time for relaxation in my day, but I literally don't have many free moments to spare! As much as I may whine that I wish Trav was a more "active" dad, having him away makes me realize all that he does and why it really does take 2 to raise a child! He's great at entertaining Marley while I make dinner, or waking up for the occasional 2am feeding when I'm just too exhausted. And without him, we'd have a landfill full of dirty diapers in our house, not to mention a sink full of dirty dishes. All those little things that I forget about...so, yay to my hubby! Thank you for cleaning up the kitchen after I make a meal, for letting me go to bed at 10pm while you stay up to do the bills and switch a load of laundry, and for being such a good daddy to little Marley!! We miss you!!
Real food...which brings me to Miss Mars. I've tried to feed her organic brown rice ceral mixed with breastmilk on 2 occasions and she wants nothing to do with it. This girl has a mind of her own! She's getting so playful, and NOISY!!! Always talking! She's rolling over both ways with ease at this point, and arching her back so hard while laying on the changing table that I can barely get a diaper on her. Marley is a pro at finding her thumb now...and instantly sticks it in her mouth when she is put down to sleep in her crib. She's very good at going to bed! Her hair is starting to grow in a bit (but not much) and her eyes are turning lighter and lighter blue everyday! And I can't believe how cute her giggle is! Our little baby is turning into a little girl, not so much baby, right before our eyes! Soon she'll be perfecting her "sitting up" skills (we're not quite there yet) and flashing a grin with a tooth or two! Can't wait!!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend to everyone!!
XOXO-
Stevie and Marley
