Minneapolis

Minneapolis & St. Paul Maternity Model | Kayla Paler Photography

Looking back...seems like so long ago that little Miss Marley was in my tummy!  Kayla also took my maternity pics when I was about 31 weeks pregnant!  She did an excellent job!

What's Up with Mars?!

Our little Marley is growing everyday...so much and so fast, we can hardly believe it!  She is smiling a lot more and she watches mommy and daddy with great intensity while we are speaking to her!  She is busy learning all that there is to know in this crazy world.  Want to know more about our little girl??  Read on...

1.  Daddy and auntie have affectionately nick-named her Mars.  Daddy also calls her peanut butter or the little raccoon (when she's being really fussy)!

2.  Her favorite food is milk...mommy's milk :)

3.  She prefers to be held over my shoulder so that she can lift her head up and look around...and this way she can kick her legs into your hands.  She is soooo strong already!

4.  Marley graduated to size 1 diapers last week!  She spent her first month in newborns and mommy says it because she has a skinny butt like daddy!

5.  Her cry is so cute that it isn't even the slightest bit annoying!  It makes us laugh  more than anything!

6.  She has mommy's lips, nose, and maybe face shape, but daddy's ears, forehead, eyes, hands, feet, and pretty much everything else.  We're also hoping she has daddy's metabolism, but not his love of Oreo's!  Travis has already discussed having Oreo eating competitions with her!

7.  Marley loves laying on the changing table...this is when she is happiest and talks the most!

8.  No lullaby CD's in this house...put on a lullaby CD and she is like, "That's it...I'm staying up for a few more hours."  But put on some good talk radio and she's out like a light!  Ha!

9.  She'll be taking her very first plane ride very soon.  We're going to Florida so that Marley can visit her Auntie Heidi, Uncle Andy, and her cousins...Ava, Addie, and Kyan!  Soooo excited!

10.  We are all really looking forward to summer and hopefully many weekends spent at the cabin on the lake...Marley has the cutest swimsuit EVER and she found another really cute one the other day and we're trying to talk daddy into letting us buy it.  We told him that all girls need at least 2 swimsuits!!  He said he'll think about it!!

Happy Thursday to everyone!

Meet the Lovely Lady...XOXOXOXO!!!

Here are a few pictures of our little girl that we have taken over the last month!  She really is a ton of fun and it's amazing how quickly she is changing!
Keep watching me grow...

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Miss Marley Jean...all dressed up for the big day!  What a sweetheart!

So the last month has been CRAZY!  We are parents now!  On January 11th, we welcomed Marley Jean Severson into the world and our lives are forever changed...for the better!  We can't imagine life without her.  It's amazing how much joy and love a little baby can bring into your life, and I'm reminded everyday just how lucky we are to have her!

She was born via C-section on Monday, January 11th and everything went as planned.  We arrived at the hospital at 6:30am and were immediately admitted in the Birth Center at Southdale Hospital.  They were quick to get things moving along and by 8:30am I was in the operating room, awaiting the birth of our little girl.  No more than 6 minutes after the procedure began, Marley came into the world with a loud cry!!  It was the best sound I have ever heard!  As they stitched up my incision, I could hear Travis and the nurses counting out loud her fingers and toes...making sure everything was in place!  What a blessing!  By 10:30am, we were in our recovery suite and my mom was there to greet us!  I still thank God everyday for my little miracle!  I look at her in total amazement...how in the world did she grow inside of me!  And she's perfect!  Truly a miracle!

The past month has been a roller coaster.  From visitors, t0 sleepless nights, to learning to let go of things that used to be soooo important to me (a spotless house, date nights, make-up, etc)...we are definitely adjusting to life with Marley!  Things are beginning to fall into more of a routine, which is something we gladly welcome!  She is still up for a few hours each night, but I'm trying to heed the advice of other moms and realize that these quiet nighttime hours spent feeding my baby will soon come and go and I should enjoy that time with her while I can.  So, instead of thinking, "Why me, can I please get some sleep?"...I've been happy to have this alone time to bond with my little girl!  Some days, if I go too long without holding her or hugging her, I find myself missing her...she's such a wonderful little human being!!

I have 5 more weeks of maternity leave and then I'll be returning to work at Simpson & Associates!  I am excited to get back into my routine, but of course am nervous about the first few days...being without her will be hard to get used to!

Happy Valentine's Day to you and your loved ones.  I know our Valentine's Day, while different this year, is the best we've ever had!  We have our little girl to thank for that!

Lots of love,
Stevie, Trav, Marley, and Sasha!!
